Jungle Paradise

Arrival and reception at the airport. Transfer to the Hotel, where you will have a briefing of Cusco itinerary. Time to rest and free time to acclimatize to the altitude. CITY TOUR:

This tour takes place in the city of Cusco, visiting the Temple of the Sun or Qorikancha, which in Quechua means ‘enclosure of gold’ and was the main religious building of the Incas dedicated to the worship of the sun and the Archaeological Site of Sacsayhuaman, an important collection of Inca architecture nestled on a hill overlooking Cuzco, and Kenko, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay.

Excursion to Sacred Valley. You will visit the archaeological complex of Pisac, from their fabulous platforms you’ll observe their domestic and ceremonial structures and aqueducts, Inca cemetery. Once you completed the tour you will head to the main square where we will appreciate the typical market of Pisac and observe their craft colorful and tradition. In Urubamba, lunch buffet at the Inka's House Restaurant. It continues with a visit to the town of Ollantaytambo, one of the most important fortresses built to guard the imperial capital of attacks by settlers in the Amazon region, consisting of a series of terraces superposed. After the visit to the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, we return to Cusco visiting Chinchero, famous for its textiles and its church.

Transfer from Cusco to Ollantaytambo station to board the train to Aguas Calientes. This is one of the fastest ways to visit the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu where you will travel by train for an hour and a half, passing through beautiful landscapes, valleys and gorges; also you will see some typical villages. Arriving to Aguas Calientes, you will be picked up by the hotel staff. The guide will visit you at your lodge to coordinate the visit to Machu Picchu.

Guided tour of the Lost City of the Incas: Machu Picchu, you will visit the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and the cemeteries. Then you will have free time to take photos and explore on your own this beautiful architectural gem. At night, you return by train to Ollantaytambo station. Reception and transfer to Cusco.

During the day you will visit the main streets of Cusco, such as the mainsquare, quarter of San Blas, the Cathedral and the Church of the Company. Visit of the museums and the Centro Qosqo. Transfer to the bus terminal to travel to Puerto Maldonado.

Arrival in Puerto Maldonado. Welcome and reception at the airport or bus. 12:30 - 1:30 pm - Transfer to Puerto Capitania. You’ll start the trip by motorboat from 1 hour to the Lodge, while enjoying the scenery. We navigate through Madre de Dios River in the heart of the jungle surrounded by wild flora and fauna. Arrival at the Lodge for setting in at your bungalow. Lunch waiting at the dining room. After an introductory talk and a little rest, your guide will take you on a hike introduction through the forest to learn about the rich biodiversity of this ecosystem through giant trees, walking palms and strangler ficus while you delight with sounds nature of animals. Return to your bungalow for a break. Before dinner, you will explore with the guide the trails and experience the transformation of the jungle from day to night while watching dark-adapted animals. Back at the Lodge you will see interesting videos and documentaries about Taricaya Ecological Reserve, projects and more while dinner is served. After dinner you can return to your bungalow to rest or share with the staff and other tourists and some volunteers Taricaya, and enjoy cold drinks from the bar and exchange experiences.

Breakfast is served between 7am and 8am. Then you’ll start your adventure walking the trails surrounded by huge trees up to 300 years while you identify the flora and fauna by sight and hearing. We arrive at the first platform to 13 and 25 meters above the branches of a Renacal accessed by a suspension bridge as we discover this curious tree and the wildlife that lives around. Continue to the Taricaya Reserve Canopy, highest platform on a tree in the jungle. At 45 meters high in the canopy of an ancient Lupuna and connected to a hanging bridge 90 meters long. Stay tuned to the macaws, toucans and other birds flying nearby. The view from this platform is truly unforgettable! Continue by the Taricaya Rescue Center where you will see various species of wild animals such as jaguars, pumas, spider monkeys, howler monkey, jaguarundi, macaw, bush dog, tapir, turtles, etc. These animals are being rehabilitated to be released back into their natural habitat. We’ll make a stop at the Butterfly house before returning to the lodge to have lunch. Rest after lunch before venturing on a 30-minute walk through the jungle to visit Chacra Agroforestal and Reforestation Project of mahogany, cedar, cocoa, coffee, and tropical flowers. Visit the artificial beaches turtle repopulation of project Taricaya (between July, August and September you will see red flags that mark every nest that has been relocated to avoid being sacked). Return to the lodge by the river in inflatable boat. The journey becomes the perfect setting to delight in the sunset as you approach the Lodge. Between the months of July to October you can stop at the beach for a refreshing swim in the river. Arrival at the Lodge for a break before finishing the day's activities with the search for alligators in motorboat under the moonlight. We look with a flashlight white alligators, resting on the edge of the river. Finish your day with a delicious regional typical and relaxing dinner and board games with a delicious and typical Pisco Sour or other drinks from the bar.

Breakfast is served at 7am to leave the Lodge at 8am. We say goodbye to the Amazon rainforest as we sail upriver for 1 hour and a half to reach Pto. Capitania where the tour staff wil be waiting to take you to the airport or bus station.
